or sth like this?

yes, last line states:

here is a little fact: i rebooted the server, and now everything works fine...

currently, i have 256 mb of ram, and i want to update to 512... would you think this would solve the problem for ever ?

read the thread about low ressource systems.

Your server has a database, a webserver, a mailserver, a dns and som other services running - this all needs ressources.

But it depends, what you want. My test system has only 128MB and it runs well - without much traffic/load of course...

the real problem was: i had little overclocked my processor. THIS was causing fcgi to die. the ram were fine
