Im not sure what you mean.. I posted what I get out when I type proftp -nd5 when I type what you said proftp -n d5 I get - unknown parameter: 'd5'
while in /usr/sbin I type proftp -n d5 is that correct?

You debug is correct! Start proftpd again in debug mode as you did it before and let it run - then connect with your client to the server.You should see a new output in the Debug.Or does proftd directly close the debug ?

When I restart proftpd is just says started... must I run the debug again after I start it?
