comment this out and do a restart of the apache server (/etc/init.d/apache2 restart)...


this should settle it for joomla etc... If it don't you might want to install additional locales (having them for your users is a good idea...)


Install at least en_US.UTF-8

the try:

yourconsole $> LANG=it_IT.UTF-8 nano /path/to/newtestfile

and enter the whole data of your current test file...

Problem was a AddDefaultCharset ISO-8859-1 in the config...

The advice was wrong in the faq, I corrected it...
