Yes - for a test and development server.
But for (semi) productive servers (and there are more than we think) I really would recommend, doing this step because there were some severe bugs in RC2c.
I know: RC is not for productive... but we all know that people think different... and the development of ispcp was not a good example of how it should be - I also have a more or less productive Server running with ispcp and I don't want to install from scratch.

RC3 should have actually been the first RC...
RC3 finally shows some, little, progress on fading VHCS' tradition of "I do it the way I want to do it" away
