ok, still no luck.
Could someone please write me a step-by step guide to installing on ubuntu 7.10 please as the readme just confuses me and doesnt seem to work

you won't get ubuntu running when you can't figure out the errors by yourself... There are a lot parts that work 98% and the 2% you have to do on your own. So use debian 4 etch or wait for rc4...
