It looks like Achmeds Project is more or less dead.

But CHBIE is working on something similar at the moment.

That's a shame, because I'm sure there were a lot of us anxiously waiting for it, as it really is a sought after addon for ispcp. Sad

When so much people waiting for this feature, why nobody asked to help? It's done when it's done Wink

All I could do is wait to see what was coming out, as my ispcp is running live, so it's a bit hard to put up what is basically alpha stuff up here to test out, otherwise I would've been the first to offer to test it out.

Unfortunately, nearly all of the discussions were in German, which I don't understand, and even using google translate would've made communicating bugs and comments along pretty hard.

So in short, for me to stick up my hand to be a alpha/beta tester, would be just to get the latest new toy, as I would not have been able to do much testing.

You'd have to ask the others why they weren't able to help out.

RE: Auto-Install for Web-Apps - DiXeoN - 02-02-2009 03:57 PM

Well, I can do some basic PHP coding, translating and alpha/beta-testing, as i got a testserver running.

RE: Auto-Install for Web-Apps - Lucan - 02-03-2009 02:22 AM

Installing a test server shouldn't be a problem for anyone.

I just say VmWare etc.

Lucan no, i dont say its a problem to install a testserver, i just say that i am willing to actually do it Smile

And i found one.

A developer had made a complete library including package format etc.
The big but :
Another opensource panel (i don't remember the name) included his source without mentioning him - so he quit working on his project.
Problem : i cannot remember either the name of the panel nor the name of the opensource project Sad

But perhaps we'd look into other opensource panels and maybe there's one which has also a application vault included ...
It would be nice if we can introduce or use a open standard for providing packages.
This is an important fact. As well as providing a public repository where everybody can upload new installation packages...

Do you think that maybe this is the guy you cannot remember ?!

If yes! guess what, he decide to resurrect his project Smile

I also found one other project called Open Installer and supposed to be found at openinstaller.com but the address look abandoned.
