Problems with email - SeanKann - 04-21-2010 02:09 PM
I checked the forums and found some answers but still not working with receiving any emails.
I can send emails with NO problems. Very fast. Just receiving seems to be the problem.
Currently time I just have 1 domain setup.
Currently using ispCP 1.0.5 OMEGA
Running Ubuntu 9.04 fully updated.

Could this have anything to do with PTR records on the IP address?

I figured out the issue, it turns out that the Postgrey service was not running, apparently it doesn't like port 60000. The mail log showed connection errors to the localhost (127.0.0.1) on port 60000 and rejected all mail coming into the server because it couldn't pass the mail through Postgrey.
I changed the port number in IspCP for Postgrey to 10023, and also the Postfix config (main.cf). After restarting both Postgrey and Postfix, I was no longer getting these emails and all of the e-mail sent to the accounts was no longer bounced. The control panel also reports that Postgrey is Up, unlike before. The mail logs were clean after this.
I hope this helps, I was not able to look into why the server would not run Postgrey on port 60000. I wonder if this is only related to the newer Ubuntu 9.10, I have an earlier build of Ubuntu running IspCP and Postgrey runs on port 60000 just fine.

Yes, this has solved the problem!
From what I can tell, this was the only problem. The mail is working good now.
