zypper refresh of opensuse repo's want authentication - mike548141 - 04-27-2010 05:57 AM Hi, When I use the script to add the repositories it prompts for authentication. There is no web proxy in the way and from the searches I have done it appears I need register for updates for openSuse? I feel like I'm missing something basic here but I don't know how to create the username & password its asking for when the script executes a zypper refresh. Quote:# sh ./docs/OpenSuse/opensuse111-repositories add Thanks, MC RE: zypper refresh of opensuse repo's want authentication - mike548141 - 04-27-2010 09:14 PM P.S> 1) It prompts for a username & password for each repo 2) I've tried my Novell login (http://download.novell.com) and it doesn't work 3) I can browse to the repo URL and I do not get prompted for authentication It really seems like I need a login to use the openSuSE repo's but I can find no mention of the requirement MC RE: zypper refresh of opensuse repo's want authentication - mike548141 - 04-27-2010 10:40 PM Sorry all, ignore the thread... my fault. Whilst there is no proxy server in the way there is a websense server on the network that sniffs out Internet requests by mirroring the switch port of the gateway. So the auth is real but at my end!
