wieder entschuldigen Sie die Unannehmlichkeiten ..
Noch diesen Fehler.
Ebenfalls auf Debian Etch.
Nun bin ich auf Debian Lenny.
FTP funktioniert nie.
Warum?

/etc/init.d/proftpd start
oder
/etc/init.d/proftpd restart

Oder den Server mittels
shutdown -r now
vollständig nochmals durchbooten.
Ein boot, tut immer gut

Wie goover schon gesagt hat, prüfen ob der Server läuft.
Wenn sich ProFTPd nicht starten lässt dann bitte ab in den Debug Modus --> http://isp-control.net/documentation/solving_proftpd_issues
