[RESOLVED] Mail is slow - Qwalk - 06-20-2010 07:25 AM Hi guys. I've set up ispCP and everything looks fine, except that there is a 10-20 minutes delay on mails. When creating an account the system sends out a mail to the new user just fine, a few seconds delay. But when my users create e-mail addresses and sends mails to an address not hosted by me, it takes 10-20 minutes before it arrives. Also to receive mails from other addresses not hosted by me. If you need any .conf files I can post them here. Thanks in advance, Qwalk RE: Mail is slow - xister - 06-20-2010 08:11 AM greylisting? ![]() RE: Mail is slow - Qwalk - 06-20-2010 10:46 AM Don't think so. I've followed the exact steps in this guide on my Debian server. http://isp-control.net/documentation/start:installation:debian Been trying to send mails to hotmail account, gmail and my personal mail account. The sending delay is not as long as the receiving delay i just discovered. I haven't changed or edited any configurations, so I was expecting the system would work just fine. My resolv.conf looks fine, I don't think it's a DNS problem. I am using Google's public DNS servers. RE: Mail is slow - gOOvER - 06-20-2010 12:40 PM It is graylisting. As Xister Said. ![]() ![]() RE: Mail is slow - Qwalk - 06-20-2010 06:30 PM I don't get it, greylisting on my server? I disabled postgrey looks like it is a little faster now.. There is still some delay, a couple of minutes.. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks for the tip.. RE: Mail is slow - Qwalk - 06-20-2010 11:34 PM It seems like the problem is fixed now after a couple of hours. Man, I love ispCP. Greatest webhosting control panel of all time. RE: Mail is slow - gOOvER - 06-21-2010 12:07 AM How did you fix it? RE: Mail is slow - Qwalk - 06-21-2010 03:36 AM I disabled and stopped postgrey, after a while there was still some delay (1-3 minutes). After a couple of hours I restarted my server and now there's no more delay. I can send and receive mails within seconds. Brilliant! |
