FTP Issues: Domains with special characters - Alex v S - 07-23-2010 04:08 AM

Hey guys

I am quite new to ispcp and it is really cool. Well, I am not a professional hoster thus it helps me for my various own projects to administrate webspace. Cool piece!

I am not a big fan of special characters like German ones (ä, ö, ü) or French ones (é, â, ô) in URLs, however they have been allowed as you all probably now.
Well, I discovered an issue with FTP and ispcp in terms of those special characters.

While a ftp account may be called ftp@hallö.com in the interface, it doesn't work to connect with via a client. What the user needs to enter as a user-name is in this case: ftp@xn--hall-slo.com

I nearly got crazy till I found out this solution :-)

I don't know if this is a bug or if this was already known here. If so, please apologize.

Regards,
Alex
