/etc/init.d/apache2 empty file (with .gz files also) on gentoo - sykosoft - 01-05-2011 09:29 PM I have gentoo, running ispcp 1.0.7. For whatever reason, /etc/init.d/apache2 was a 0 byte file, and I had files that look like this: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3802 Dec 10 03:10 apache2 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 20 Dec 17 03:10 apache2-20101217.gz -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 20 Dec 24 03:10 apache2-20101224.gz -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 20 Dec 31 03:10 apache2-20101231.gz (apache2 was replaced by one that was apache2-20101210.gz) before extracting the previous archive, apache2 was a 0 byte file. Why would this happen (does ispcp modify the init script?) Michael RE: /etc/init.d/apache2 empty file (with .gz files also) on gentoo - delboy711 - 01-10-2011 09:13 PM I get the same problem on a regular basis on a clean install of ISPCP 1.0.7 on Ubuntu. It has also been reported before such as here http://isp-control.net/forum/thread-12603.html /etc/init.d/apache2 becomes a zero byte file, and a renamed duplicate of the original file appears. It seems to be initiated by a cron job but I have not yet established which one. I think your link is back to this thread, do you have the one for the problem you mentioned?
