updating / migrating ispCP systems - woro - 02-02-2011 08:06 PM Hi, I was testing iscCP for a few days if it's usable in my non-profit hosting environment. (I'm currently setting up the stuff manually but I'd like to give the users a tool to self manage their domains.) As my system is openSUSE based (currently 11.1) I already had some bad situation because between 1.0.6 and 1.0.7 support for that was dropped. I still managed to set it up but if patch level updates allow such a change I'm wondering if ispCP is the right thing for me. There might be security updates (not talking about feature releases in that case) that I cannot apply because it breaks the system completely. Another thing is that I haven't got the idea yet how a migration path looks like if I ever need to switch the whole system to a newer hardware/software combo. I probably missed documentation about that but it seems important to know before rolling out an ispCP system. Any pointers where I can get an idea about it? Thanks, Wolfgang |
