Wordpress-Installation Upload-Fail - biberbeat - 09-21-2011 03:52 PM

Hello!

I´m really confused. I tried to upload the wordpress-files to my webspace as I did it several times before on other systems. Now Cyberduck shows me the error-message: 405 Method Not Allowed

I put all the acces-infos in my FTP-Prog and that´s it. What´s the problem right now?

Thanks for your help.

in which folder are you trying to put the file?

There is no folder. I want to have it in the root. But I also tried to make a directory as the same error appeared!

Maybe you need to have a look in the logs.
either the proftpd-logs or one of the system logs.
during the next try.

"405 Method Not Allowed" seems to be caused because of the rules about where it's allowed to write in the DocumentRoot. See /etc/proftpd/ispcp/*

Hi

ok, you are not the admin for this server? - Normally if you pay for a domain/webspace then you should ask the support of the hosting company...
Because we can not help since you can not give us the infos we need (logfile from server etc).

But one thing - there should be a more complete error message than only "405 Method Not Allowed". At least you should write which method is not allowed (so a sort of logfile from the ftp client).
