perl ispcp-setup - why is an sql root pass proposed? - monotek - 10-15-2007 05:07 AM Today i tried install from trunk 851. Why is a sql root pass proposed? You cant set the mysql root pass with this script (respectively it does not work if it should). Why is a password proposed? This makes no sense to me, because documentation says "mysqladmin -u root password YOURPASS" before starting "perl ispcp-setup". RE: perl ispcp-setup - why is an sql root pass proposed? - rbtux - 10-15-2007 05:40 AM sorry i don't get the problem here... Set a password for the mysql root user and it works... Users that must be reminded to do that, should think if their sysadmin skills are enough to manage a hosting server... I doubt that... RE: perl ispcp-setup - why is an sql root pass proposed? - monotek - 10-15-2007 05:47 AM Does not work. See: http://www.isp-control.net/ispcp/ticket/768 Im also confused that INSTALL Doc says that you have to set the root pass with mysqladmin before you start ispcp-setup. Therefore it shouldnt be necessary to set it again. RE: perl ispcp-setup - why is an sql root pass proposed? - BeNe - 10-15-2007 05:50 AM Raphael fixed the Problem some minutes ago. Wait for the new Changeset and test it again. Greez BeNe RE: perl ispcp-setup - why is an sql root pass proposed? - rbtux - 10-15-2007 06:05 AM sorry I missunderstood you... there ware some changes in the setup I wasn't aware of... RE: perl ispcp-setup - why is an sql root pass proposed? - raphael - 10-15-2007 06:12 AM I'll remove the password suggestion for the main db user since we are not setting it, but actually prompting RE: perl ispcp-setup - why is an sql root pass proposed? - raphael - 10-15-2007 06:14 AM Quote:the empty pass problem?that was actually a problem when writing the db encryption keys. It is also fixed in that changeset RE: perl ispcp-setup - why is an sql root pass proposed? - monotek - 10-15-2007 06:16 AM OK. But additionally it seems that the the entered root pass is not saved/used because installation stops with error (errormessage saved in /tmp): error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)' edit: raphael Wrote:Quote:the empty pass problem?that was actually a problem when writing the db encryption keys.
