Help to understand principle of accessing ISPCP OMEGA - dexit - 04-16-2012 02:56 AM First of all, Hi and thankyou to all people contributing. So my question is - How to access your ispcp omega panel, because it gives me out a Not found page, looks like the vhost or smthing arent right, so i double checked, reconfigured manually, tried reinstalling i always get the same, just a 404 page. Sofar what i know, is that 1. To start with - i need to configure my DOMAIN name ( hosted at GoDaddy - so i need some records right ? what records ? i know how to edit NS servers ( their pointing to Wordpress blog and NS for now ), but what to type in the NS IP, like my servers IP or .. ? just show an example please.. 2. So as i remember when the NS is targeting on my IP then the BIND will work by itself ? Or there is something more to it ? Because i cant access my admin panel. Or my brain fried trying to solve this problem reinstalling Ubuntu 10.04 server with ISPCP 7 times in a row... and i couldnt find a solution :/ By the way the installation works no errors what so ever... RE: Help to understand principle of accessing ISPCP OMEGA - joximu - 04-16-2012 09:53 AM Try accessing http://your-server-ip/ The rest is DNS knowhow which is a requirement when running isp software. ispcp is not magic - it just helps you with the configuration of all the services needed with hosting customers. /J RE: Help to understand principle of accessing ISPCP OMEGA - dexit - 04-17-2012 03:13 PM ya i get it dont get me wrong, but couldnt you just said, YEs you need to buy a domain name, target it to your server IP By the way http://MY-IP.TLD GETS ME - 404 !!! I have the /var/www/ folder full of files etc, but as i remember the vhost is responsible for it, tried to fixing it, didnt work, Thats why im asking... --- EDIT --- So ill clear up, and tell you what i understood. 1. I go, buy a domain (or i own one) 2. following this link http://support.godaddy.com/help/668 3. pointing the ns1 and ns2 to my servers ip right ? 4. Then when its all ready after 24-48h, I setup my ISPCP server, and if the iP for server is the same as ns BIND will control my domain, or in other words, ill be my own DOmain hoster ^_^ 5. When installing when the installation asks me for the host, i enter panel.domain.tld or just domain.tld ?, and it will add a ZONE right ? afterwards it should work... is this the right course of action ? RE: Help to understand principle of accessing ISPCP OMEGA - joximu - 04-17-2012 07:00 PM Normally yes - it's more or less the way it works. But since the default vhost in apache is the entry from ispcp (master) you also can enter the ip address and the panel will show up. You get a 404? So have a look in the logfiles to see why. /J RE: Help to understand principle of accessing ISPCP OMEGA - Userino - 07-24-2012 02:02 AM I think 404 |
