RE: can't send/recieve mail (excluding localhost) - rbtux - 12-03-2007 03:14 AM
is it possible that smtp is missing in /etc/services?
RE: can't send/recieve mail (excluding localhost) - rbtux - 12-03-2007 03:25 AM
just had another idea ;-)
It could be possible that the file for chroot and the normal /etc/services differ...

or the file is missing there
in debian etch:
/var/spool/postfix/etc/services

joximu Wrote:or the file is missing there
well thats kind of a difference too
RE: can't send/recieve mail (excluding localhost) - joximu - 12-03-2007 04:24 AM
a 100% difference :-)
the permissions may also be a difference...
RE: can't send/recieve mail (excluding localhost) - D57452 - 12-09-2007 12:20 PM
it's alright now after i edit the postfix conf
virtual_mailbox_base = /var/spool/mail/virtual
RE: can't send/recieve mail (excluding localhost) - joximu - 12-09-2007 10:34 PM
Well - in most distros /var/spool/mail is the same as /var/mail. In some it's a symlink from the first to the second (debian etch) in others its vice versa (eg. suse 10.0)...
