Domains on local system - vu2000 - 01-16-2008 03:37 AM Hi, I installed ISPCP nightly from 13.1 on a complete clean Debian Etch system. The name of the server is david.local. So there should be under admin.david.local the admininterface but it isn´t ("Unknown host admin.david.local"). But under david.local I can log into ISPCP If I call nslookup admin.david.local it says, it is on my machine (192.168.0.15) But if I call it via Browser, it is not possible. traceroute also says "Unknown host admin.david.local" Bind is running on port 53. ifconfig says : Code: eth0 Protokoll:Ethernet Hardware Adresse 00:30:BD:B9:55:80 Any ideas, what I´m doing wrong? Thansk in advance Markus[/code] RE: Domains on local system - BeNe - 01-16-2008 04:34 AM Do you sit in front of the Server ? I mean you did not try to connect from an other client to your ispCP?! Set this "admin.david.local" in in your hosts file under /etc and try it again. Greez BeNe RE: Domains on local system - rbtux - 01-16-2008 04:40 AM have you set the local machine as default dns server in your ip configuration (/etc/resolv.conf) RE: Domains on local system - BeNe - 01-16-2008 04:46 AM Quote:have you set the local machine as default dns server in your ip configuration (/etc/resolv.conf)Yes, this is the better way and not so dirty than my post... Greez BeNe RE: Domains on local system - rbtux - 01-16-2008 04:55 AM using .local as domain name is always dirty... even worse when macintoshes are around... |
