Which OS do you use ?
And which ispCP Version ?

Code:
[Sun Jan 13 06:25:39 2008] [alert] (2)No such file or directory: FastCGI: read() from pipe failed (0)
[Sun Jan 13 06:25:39 2008] [alert] (2)No such file or directory: FastCGI: the PM is shutting down, Apache seems to have disappeared - bye

RE: slow sites on ispcp not in vhcs2 - BioALIEN - 01-20-2008 12:53 PM

I'm not sure if Taz is talking about the same thing but I also experience a small pause of 1 or 2 secs before our ispCP powered sites show up for the very first time. After this initial pause, subsequent pages are all normal speed. Maybe its taking a long time to establish a connection or opening a session? Can't figure out why so maybe this thread will lead to some valid suggestions.

Details are in my sig Smile
256MB RAM
Applied the "lower resources" and "more secure" patches in the How To section.

I have the same problem as BioALIEN. I guess it takes a little while to get the FastCGI session started. It would be nice if there could be an improvment to this.

RE: slow sites on ispcp not in vhcs2 - BioALIEN - 01-21-2008 01:44 PM

Very glad I'm not the only one experiencing this. If we can get more people to confirm this behaviour then we can start gathering more feedback and maybe a final solution.

Eminos, could you post your server ram, os, ispcp build, mods installed etc?

RE: slow sites on ispcp not in vhcs2 - Eminos - 01-21-2008 02:17 PM

Sure, I have tested it with different kind of VPS's (Debian Etch). All from 128 to 512 MB RAM, nightlies from Summer 2007 til January 2008. As for mods, I don't think it really matters, and I can't remember all the ones I have installed (and besides, the problem is there on a freshly installed server as well). I have hacked some settings, but there is still some lag when I load the page for the first time (session). I don't think I have this problem with mod_php, only fcgi.

Maybe this is standard behavior for fast_cgi? Can someone confirm?

RE: slow sites on ispcp not in vhcs2 - Tschebel - 01-21-2008 07:11 PM

i've posted this problem several months ago in the german section of this board
i've this problem on a server with 1 GB Ram and ispcp rc2c, so i don't think that it is a problem of low ressources

the only usefull answer i got is, that i have to wait for rc3 because there will be some changes in fcgi config, maybee then it will be better

blessings, tschebel

RE: slow sites on ispcp not in vhcs2 - Eminos - 01-21-2008 07:14 PM

What changes in fcgi are in rc3 ?? I am basicly running rc3, the only changes since I installed the nightly have been made to the upgrade-script.
