What is included in a Relase Candidate? - Quemeros - 04-03-2008 12:50 PM

Today the RC5 is close, to have all RC5 tickets closed... but the now closed tickets of 1.0 that are equal in "Frezze Features" and have a lot of priority major fixes, are go to be included? or only go out in 1 month (for put a time) Rolleyes

If its the second option the correct, why is this? what is the logic of this?

Hi there, allow me to shed some light into the development process of ispCP.

Version 1.0 is feature freeze, it means no new features will be added. Only bug fixes. However RC5 is almost done and will be released soon. This leaves the dev team with some time to work on possibly releasing another candidate RC6 in order to get the public to test and submit bugs. If no major bugs are found, then expect a final v1.0 release.

There are many great things planned for ispCP, however in the hope of not delaying the project more than needed, almost all of this is postponed to v1.1 - after the 1.0 release.

The idea behind the development cycle is rapid pace, fix and release. Release often, release lots, fix often, fix lots. I believe this is the right attitude to approach a project of this size, importance and magnitude Smile

Hi! Smile
Thanks a lot for answer, but i think you doesen't stand what i ask.
Anyway i try to rewrite question Tongue

All today v1.0 Closed Tickets (that are all bug fixes) are going to be included in the launch of RC5?

The idea of the development cycle that you say, its the same i think its cleary the correct. Smile Also i sure that ispCP its the best Open Panel!

PD: Sorry if i have a bad english, isnĀ“t my native language; that is Spanish.

Yes - everything that's closed is available in the nightly trunk/snapshots or the RC when releasing an RC... - at least until now we only have one "trunk" where all fixes are in...
