Possible to install to an existing setup? - vertimyst - 06-24-2008 09:42 AM

Hi,

I want to try ispCP as a control panel for my hosting service, as I don't currently have a control panel for my users. However, I don't want to have to do a fresh install of my system just to install ispCP.

My current setup is like this: all user accounts (and the sites belonging to users) are in the /var/www/users dir. Each user has his/her own dir within the users dir. I use Apache for a web server and vsftpd for a FTP server, along with Mysql and phpMyAdmin, and PHP 5, on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.

I normally wouldn't have a problem with doing a fresh install, but most of my users have active forum software running on my server, and I have never managed to restore backups of the forums before. As such, I don't want to risk wiping everything.

Is it possible to install ispCP so it works with my existing setup? Also, does ispCP work with vsftpd (my FTP server software)?

Thanks,
