php5-cgi script causing server to lag? - genesisrage - 06-27-2008 08:53 AM

Having a problem, have a Debian Etch server (vps) running Rc5. There is a php5-cgi script running that is causing tremendous server load. The hosting company has shut down my server because of this problem, and need to get it fixed so they dont charge me extra cpu usage fees.

The only things installed are what is installed with IspCP, and nothing else. So I assume it has something to do with a script with it. My host was not able to find what script it was, just that it was php5-cgi.

I have not set SMTP authorization for sending emails yet, mainly because I havent taken the time to find out how. I was thinking this may be causing the problem as I have repeatedly gotten emails from the mail daemon that certain emails were unsuccessfully sent, and emails I have never sent. However im not sure what all IspCP does "behind-the-scenes" so would have no idea where or how to track this problem down and fix it.

So any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really dont want to loose my server.
