I noticed that when you have multiple domains on one account it can cause a great deal of confusion. If you would like to add a subdomain to the primary domain it's easy. You just click manage domains add subdomain. but if you want to add a subdomain to a secondary domain you have to add it as an alias. I think for the sake of customer headaches that they shouldn't have to do that. IMHO in the next release of ispCP users should just have to click domain management and from there they can add domains and subdomains to those domains. I honestly found it difficult/confusing to figure out how to add a subdomain to an aliased domain and I'm not 100% sure it even works.

That's already planned to do it like that Wink

architecture will probably (at the end) look like that :

admin(s) -> reseller(s) - > customer(s) -> contract(s) -> domain(s)

There will be the possibility to login at each level.
i.e. a Customer may access all of its contracts and all its domains but he may want to give someone one - or more of its contracts under a control of someone else - so he may define a pass for a contract : then the user with the password can access every domain in the contract.
Same applies to domain pw's then only that domain is accessible.

Ok... which version will this be implemented in? ;-)

RE: Multiple Domains/Subdomains - ephigenie - 04-13-2007 03:36 AM

We go step by step.
But the domain system is one of the first things i'd like to change.
Because that's one of the base items that have to be good Smile

How fast this will be ? i don't know...

That depends on how many people can help with that Wink

RE: Multiple Domains/Subdomains - achioo - 04-13-2007 04:28 AM

Well... what do you need written in PHP?

RE: Multiple Domains/Subdomains - ephigenie - 04-13-2007 04:34 AM

well - we need a lot Smile

But first bug-fixing the rc1 Wink
and finalizing the 1.0 ...

after that we can start the big changes Wink
