localhost not being recognized by apache2 - ispcpNooby - 07-29-2008 01:07 PM

I just completed a fresh install of Debian (stable) etch. Then i installed the RC5 of ispcp. Everything has worked out OK. I can access the ispcp functions (as admin, reseller and user). Even created a test website. Everything appears to be OK.

HOWEVER..... when i type in http://localhost/ i get the following message:

Not Found

The requested URL / was not found on this server.
Apache/2.2.3 (Debian) mod_fastcgi/2.4.2 Server at localhost Port 80

This prevents me from running phpmyadmin script as well! because the http://localhost is not being recoginized!!! (i.e. http://localhost/phpmyadmin)

(i have tried http://127.0.0.1 as well by the way... same message!)

PLEASE SHED SOME LIGHT on this.... I have searched on google but no luck!

Appreciate any response!

Is there no one out there who can shed some light on this problem I am having?? I am very surprised no one has ever encountered this type of problem before. I am sure it's going to be a silly little mistake on my part.... !!

I would really appreciate if some one can give me an hint how to solve this problem.
Thnx.

instead of localhost use your ip of your server. localhost only works if your /etc/hosts is configured right Wink

And it works only if you have configured Apache to listen on 127.0.0.1. This is not the case on a default ispCP installation.

Thanks for the suggestions. Since it recognizes the http://{myserver_name}, i am going to move ahead and not worry about why its not recognizing the http://localhost

I am sure i'll have more questions later. Great product, by the way!
