view web site from internal lan - surfweb82 - 09-04-2008 07:35 PM

Hello.

My websites are perfectly outside the LAN but not from within. I want to reach those websites from within the network by typing http://www.mysite.come, use ftp with the domain name, etc.

For me it is very important to know how I can do.

Someone could kindly help me!

PS: I checked on the forum and the documentation but have not found the answer!

Thank you all!

This is your local DNS problem, more or less.
You can also use your "hosts" file and add the IP of the Server with you Domain. So your machine is able to find the server with the FQDN without and DNS-Server.

Thank for reply.

I don't use host file in client machine but dns-server.

I'd like to use dns service so that all those who are connected have an opportunity to connect to those addresses.

I could give a help to understand what is the problem?

I have followed this guide to install configure server: http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-ubuntu8.04-lts then I installed following your tutorial your control panel.

Let me learn from my mistakes.

You have to set the bind service right.
Check the configs about the internal IP´s so that the LAN Clients can find them, too.
