Testing ispcp local - yoghurt - 10-01-2008 06:53 AM

Hi everybody, i have the following problem: I installed ispcp on debian etch, everything worked fine, installation was ok. Now i wanted to test the control panel in local network, but i dont know how, because to access the control panel i have to enter the domain i entered in installation. But, for example if i entered admin.myserver.net and i want to access it, the computer of course routes to the domain in the internet and not to my server... I dont know how to access it now... I hope somebody can understand and help me...

modify /etc/resolv.conf and add localhost as first option (nameserver 127.0.0.1)

also you can add your server's local ip address (ex: 192.168.0.2) in resolv.conf and access it through your browser (just type the server's ip address) Smile

Hm, and if i did it and it don't work, then something went wrong with the installation? I added the entry to the /etc/resolv.con but when i try to access the ip or the hostname then i get "Not Found" - The requested URL / was not found on this server. Or have I to enter something special while installing ispcp? The installation process told me that everything went fine... But i can't access the control-panel

so you're saying that when you access your server's ip you get a not found in your browser.
well try restarting apache...
i installed ispcp on vmware and worked just fine, also on local network computers and also worked fine, can't see where's your problem :-??

Restarting apache takes no effect. Can I have done something wrong during the installation? I followed the manuel for installing on Debian etch, installed everything except the postfix-tls. I did everything like in the manual, but nothing happens when I try to access the page. Maybe I should reinstall it... Is there something special I have to look at when I want to use it in local lan?

no, just install ispcp step by step and when you are asked of your server's ip just type the local ip address (eg. 192.168.0.2)
right now i'm browsing through my ispcp installed in vmware and works just fine...
