crontab cron.d/ispcp and a incomplete FAQ - malloc - 10-12-2008 04:52 AM

Hi,

in a lot of threads this FAQ is linked

http://www.isp-control.net/documentation/frequently_asked_questions/why_do_the_cronjobs_statistics_backups_etc._don_t_work

but the lines for rootkithunter and chrootkit in that FAQ are incomplete.

here the complete lines:

Code:
# Rootkit Hunter
0       */12    *       *       *       root /usr/bin/rkhunter --scan-knownbad-files --check-deleted --cronjob --createlogfile /var/log/rkhunter.log >/dev/null 2>&1

# Chkrootkit
0       */12    *       *       *       root /usr/sbin/chkrootkit &> /var/log/chkrootkit.log

have fun

Hi,

I've just searched for the '--scan-kownbad-files' option in the rkhunter man page, but it wasn't there. I found this in the changelog:
rkhunter CHANGELOG Wrote:* 1.3.0 (22/09/2007)
...
- Removed the '--scan-knownbad-files' option. This test was considered to
be obsolete.

So I suppose to not use it anymore...

I've modified the FAQ by adding the program paths and removing the '--scan-knownbad-files' option.

Regards
FeG
