VHCS question - EoN - 11-19-2008 01:29 PM

Hi all,

I hope it's ok to ask a VHCS2 question here - if not, I apologise in advance!

I think it should be a quick/easy fix, but not sure of the approach.

I absent mindedly (and stupidly) changed the password of a vu user (vu2002) via the passwd command as root.

It since occurred to me (at least I'm assuming...) that VHCS might use this account and rely on its password being as it expects meaning they'd now be out of sync. Could someone please advise me on what I can do to sync these back up so that VHCS2 will be happy again? Or will it not even cause any problem in the first place?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Regards,
EoN

I don't know VHCS but I assume that also there the system users (vu2xxx) had no password.
You can have a look in /etc/shadow - if there's a ! instead of a password at user vu2001 (for example) then you can set the same in vu2002 (just overwrite the password hash).

Hope this helps - but we're not from VHCS...
