alias, I don't manage to use them - Sens0r - 11-22-2008 01:41 AM Hello, I'm using ispCP since a while now, and I just like it, great job Well, I have a question related to the "alias" function in the "Manage domain alias" menu of a user. I have 2 Websites, for example: ispcprules.com and ispcpreallyrules.com. Now, I want to make them point to the same page. After reading the documentation and after trying a lot of different entries, I didn't managed to make this work the way I wish. The documentation says: "If you want to point more than one domain to the same document root, add a domain alias and set the directory mount point to /. This will cause that the alias will point to the root of your main domain." Well, I didn't work for me, maybe I misunderstood something. What do I have to write in the fields: "Domain name", "Directory mount point", "Forward to URL" for my example? I would be very happy if some nice person would give me a hand. Thanks, and Greets, Steven RE: alias, I don't manage to use them - kurgans - 11-22-2008 02:11 AM Good evening, ----------- Domain Alias Name domain aliases ---www.domain.com Mount point ---www.domain.com Return email (forward) -- Activado URL redirect -- http://www.domain.es ----------------------------- Domain Alias Name domain aliases ---ispcpreallyrules.com Mount point ---www.ispcpreallyrules.com Return email (forward) -- Activado URL redirect -- http://www.ispcprules.com Domain.com, will be within domain.es and when called to redirect Web domain.es A greeting RE: alias, I don't manage to use them - Sens0r - 11-22-2008 02:21 AM Hello, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I encounter some problems when I do what you say, here my inputs: Domain name http://test23.myDomain.org Directory mount point / Forward to URL test.myDomain.org Here my Error message: "Domain with that name already exists on the system!" Any further hints? Greetings, Steven RE: alias, I don't manage to use them - kurgans - 11-22-2008 02:24 AM An alias is a domain more on your panel, if that avoids domain in your system will not be able to do this, remove the domain user and add them as alias |
