This problem was discussed over and over again. Please search forum and provide informations needed to help you ( ISPCP version, proftpd.conf, output of proftpd -n -d5). Nobody can guess whats wrong without more info.
HINT You do not have proper configuration (proftpd.conf), proftpd-mysql is not installed or is not enabled (see modules.conf).

RE: proftpd problem -> Please help - hosting-zone - 12-07-2008 06:01 AM

RE: proftpd problem -> Please help - sci2tech - 12-07-2008 06:25 AM

This is not proftpd.conf generated by ispcp. You replace it during update maybe. See in /etc/ispcp/proftpd/backup is exist one file named proftpd.conf.ispcp. if yes try replace proftpd.conf with this file.

RE: proftpd problem -> Please help - sci2tech - 12-07-2008 06:40 AM

Does not look good.
You must replace in this file
{HOST_NAME} with Debian
<IfModule mod_quota.c> with <IfModule mod_quotatab.c>

{FTPD_MIN_UID} with 2000
{FTPD_MIN_GID} with 2000

{DATABASE_NAME} with ispcp database usual ispcp
{DATABASE_HOST} usual localhost
{DATABASE_USER} user that have acces to ftp_group, ftp_users, quotalimits, quotatallies tables with specific privileges: SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE. this user is created during setup and suggested is vftp
{DATABASE_PASS} password for the user
