RFC complaint mail setups - mjk - 05-11-2007 11:56 AM Some issues I found with VHCS, which I hope can be resolved in ispCP, are a lack of required mail address on initial domain creation. If I create foo.com, no default mail accounts are created, which is not ideal. As postmaster@ is required Mail servers are required (RFC822 6.3, RFC1123 5.2.7, and RFC2821 4.5.1) to accept mail to postmaster. So it should be created by default. Another missing mail account is abuse@. Mail servers are expected by RFC2142 to accept mail to abuse@ As the admin of the server running VHCS/ispCP, I can not assume that the domain user knows about the requirements of various RFC's. Lets make ispCP systems good internet citizen and have sane defaults.
