[solved] ftp permissions...is this possible? - garovich - 12-22-2008 04:29 AM

hello

I need to give different access permissions to users who access a ftp folder.
For examle: I have the following ftp folder /domain.com/ftp/ and two ftp users who access that folder (user@doman.com and admin@domain.com)
how can I do (if possible) to give user@doman.com read-only access and admin@doman.com read-write?

thanks

AFAIK won't work without bigger changes...

all ftp users in the same domain account will have the same uid and gid - so you cannot make differences between them - except the home folder...

maybe you need a web access for read only access.

Create one folder, chmod as read and execute (no write), and set as home dir for one user. Also folder content (all subfolders and file within) should not be writable. In theory should do the trick Smile
