SQL Password Not Working - Please Read Not Duplicated - kaotix - 01-22-2009 07:40 AM Ok I have a serious problem here, I am upgrading from RC6 - RC7 and upon running the setup it says it cannot access the SQL database because access is denied. I changed the password for the sake of changing it, changed in the conf ok too. If I immediately go to my admin panel it says its down for maintenance BUT if i then try and run the setup utility again it says it cannot login and then the password on the admin panel side no longer works. Seriously wtf is going on here? I followed the Wiki on how to change the password for both SQL and conf file and they are both correct as its evident. Any help is greatly appreciated. RE: SQL Password Not Working - Please Read Not Duplicated - sci2tech - 01-22-2009 07:44 AM You did not follow step by step instructions as in INSTALL file, so you overwrite some files (ispcp-db-keys.* and / or ispcp.conf). Please restore from backup and rerun update. AND PLEASE FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS STEP BY STEP!!! RE: SQL Password Not Working - Please Read Not Duplicated - kaotix - 01-22-2009 07:50 AM I'm following this: http://www.isp-control.net/documentation/start/upgrade/rc I haven't missed anything out. What files have I supposedly overwritten? I'll just move them back. RE: SQL Password Not Working - Please Read Not Duplicated - sci2tech - 01-22-2009 08:20 AM NOT GOOD. Compare with http://www.isp-control.net/ispcp/browser/trunk/docs/Debian/INSTALL Upgrade section, and you will see some difference RE: SQL Password Not Working - Please Read Not Duplicated - kaotix - 01-22-2009 08:25 AM Why is this on the main page then. This site is fkn stupid. Also, can I ask why non-modified files are 'upgraded' in the process? Such as default files/templates which I had previously modified. These files have not been altered in any way since R6 so why are they included while upgrading. I've fixed the problem myself, I think next time i'll upgrade my own way rather than read incorrect information from this site. RE: SQL Password Not Working - Please Read Not Duplicated - sci2tech - 01-22-2009 08:37 AM New PR manager . Be gentle with him RE: SQL Password Not Working - Please Read Not Duplicated - rbtux - 01-22-2009 11:20 PM yeah well kaotix has got a point there... RE: SQL Password Not Working - Please Read Not Duplicated - sci2tech - 01-22-2009 11:22 PM He is right, and now I can understand why this mistake is so common. RE: SQL Password Not Working - Please Read Not Duplicated - gOOvER - 01-23-2009 03:32 AM Now the Docu for upgrading is up2date. |
