n00b questions - zer0 - 01-31-2009 07:23 AM

hello everyone,

I'm new to Linux, and ispCP. Currently i'm running Ubuntu 8.04. I installed ispCP, logged in as Admin, created a reseller acount and then created a user acount in that and using that created email accounts (btw i need to use ispcp for email only, i'm thinking it should be pretty stable for emails?), here is what I cant figure out:

1. How do i send/receive email from/to outside LAN? like what do i need to configure, I have an account with no-ip.com and thats the domain i used when setting up ispcp and the user account (domain: test.hopto.org) and the email addresses are something like admin@test.hopto.org

2. what would i use as my SMTP and POP3 when setting up email in outlook/outlook express? (this is from LAN only), but i want webmail to be accessed from anywhere.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

ok... so this is what i did so far...

I created a reseller account and then created a user account with a domain that i bought from godaddy.com and assigned it to my IP address.

Then i went to godaddy.com and created an A record
mail.domain.com IN A (my IP)

and then i created MX record
domain.com IN MX mail.domain.com
(its not in that form at godaddy.com since its gui based)

now what am i missing? how do i get my email to work?

thank you in advance!!!

It's like that everything is OK.
Could you post your postfix log (/var/log/maillog) ?
