rc7 and plain text mail passwords changed? - supaplex - 02-15-2009 12:03 AM

if I compare the rc5 backup and the rc7 mail_users tables, only the passwords seem to differ. Is there anyway to make sure they stay in plain text? I checked ispcp.conf, but I don't see any apparent cause to change all these passwords shortly after the upgrade.

ispcp-rqst-mngr wasn't running prior to this, and it was run to complete some other requests. Isn't this normally suppose to be running? How is it suppose to run?

Thanks in advance

Passwords are encoded via critical updates. This are run automatically and do not need engine requests.

How can we disable password encoding?

You can not.

We can reconfigure daemons to follow. I suppose I just need to restore the passwords, or just run ispcp-rqst-mngr again?

Should ispcp-rqst-mngr be in a cron job, or is this a daemon that should be running all the time?

Encrypted password are hardcoded. To revert you need to modify gui and engine.

We are not seeing
/var/www/ispcp/engine/ispcp-rqst-mngr

Run after changes are made, how would we start to figure out why?

The other thing is we can restore the encrypted passwords to the mail_users table, how do we re-configure dovecot to auth against the encrypted passwords

Thanks in advance.

I work with supaplex.

G.

To make work dovecot with encrypted passwords read:

Thanks for that.

Any ideas to help find out why the request manager isn't being run after changes in the control panel?

Password are encoded by gui not by engine. If you not speak about this, check if ispcp_daemon is running
