What exactly is happening here? - cmoboss - 11-25-2006 08:22 AM

A breif fill-in on my take of the situation....

I was turned-on to VHCS2 about two months ago. Having 15 of my own websites and the desire to make my life easier I made some Inquiries and found myself at the above mentioned .net domain. After about 40 complete formats and installs of Debian and vhcs2 I have (from what i can tell) gotten this script to work.

From my hassle or should i say near death experience with this install process and constant bugs, I decided to register vhcs2solutions.com in the hopes to provide a much easier to nav, and more supportive website for those that have obviously faced and are facing the same issues i have with this script.

Are you fine folks to be the new developers of the vhcs? Is there a need for the domain name i registered? What is goin on ? lol is it safe to assume that this (although very "screwed up" and "bugged out") script with great potential is now going to take a new name and actually have some real support?

Please do not take this as any offense. I am simply curious as to the way things are going and i actually applaud any positive movement forward for vhcs or x whatever it will be if this is so.

Welcome and here we go!

There is no future for the VHCS procect on their websites. Therefore the remaining developers decided to leave the project and create a new panel.
To keep the community we release this VHCS fork called (VHCS ω) - we are only awaiting the trade mark holders written permission to use this name.

The new project has allready a name, we will set it up soon.
If you are able to offer help to us, do so!

"...project and create a new panel." in reading this i am curious will this new panel be based off the current script or is the intention to start from scratch? I am not exactly sure what a "fork" implies in the sense of coding as I am certainly not much of a coder. So to make some things simple..

A ) Our coders/developing team are dedicated to further advancing the current VHCS script, but in order to do so we have to rename the project from vhcs to another name (a name not yet released)

B ) The project our coders are working on will be somewhat simular to that of the vhcs project (in the sense of consisting of hosting panel, and gui tools), however our script will not be based on vhcs coding but completely redesigned from scratch.

I ask for not just my own curiosity, but also to clear some confuesion many others may have as well. And yes, i realise there will be a FAQ section but this forums posting method will be the first place anyone looking to inquire will search.

please to make things faster and easier for you, simply pick either A or B. if there are further technical details those can and most likly will be brought up after you answer. lol

(just tryin to help you get some FAQ content to work with Wink

Got this in editing the above post...

Fatal error: Call to a member function run_hooks() on a non-object in /var/www/virtual/inetcentral.de/trac/htdocs/forum/inc/functions.php on line 146

We start with A) and go to B), that's the plan.
The Fatal Error doesn't matter, it's from PHP5.2
