read-only ftp user possible or not? - DRaGoNx - 03-29-2009 09:14 PM Hello, i have a little help request. On one domain, i have created 2 ftp users through the panel. I would like 1 to be read-only on the domain. Is it possible or not? if yes, how to do it. PS: i have tried to manage it through ispcp mysql dB, but when changing the UID / GID for the user, he cannot connect at all. And if i'm not wrong, both users have the same GID/UID on the server files, so i cannot chmod them. Thanks for your help. So, either you change the uid of the to-be-read-only-user to another value (something like 1500 - a non existent value) but leave the gid as is - then change the permissions so that groups only can read (I did not test this). Or make it via web/http -> a folder with htuser protection. /J |
