[CLOSED] saslauthd? - DizzyD - 04-04-2009 07:39 AM

I can't seem to send mail via outlook. I get this error in the log:
Quote:Apr 3 13:37:47 dedq211 postfix/smtpd[8462]: warning: SASL authentication failure: cannot connect to saslauthd server: No such file or directory

I was under the impression the postfix uses its own sasl-daemon. So why is it looking for saslauthd? Either way I need to be able to send mail via outlook.

I was able to start saslauthd and when I tried to send again I just got access denied but i'm assuming that it isn't findind user/pass in the db since my system isn't setup to use saslauthd...

Bah! nevermind I got it fixed. I edited the smtpd.conf file in /usr/lib/sasl2/ when I installed but forgot i'm on a 64bit so the file that should have been edited was in /usr/lib64/sasl2/

all is well now Big Grin
