Mod cband does not work in lenny - victor531 - 04-24-2009 10:58 AM

Hi guys, I'm here again.

Now, I'm working in a testing server with a brand new debian lenny and ispCP Omega 1.0.0 (2009-02-25) and the bandwidth of one of my domains has the web bandwidth exceeded ( 50 MB of 20 MB) and nothing happens , the website is still working ...... (??).

Researching, I've found that the mod-cband does not exist for lenny, but instead, there is a module called " libapache2-mod-bw " .

Can anyone help me configure this module in testing mode ? ... if it possible.

Or Am'I wrong ?

Any help is apreciated

Thanks in advance

Victor

mod_bw is the closest thing ressembling cband that I could find, but it doesn't seem to allow setting "website disabling" limits...

Do you think it should be enough?

No, not really!
That was a reason why we use mod_cband.

*damn* So what do to ?
Build it own from the source ? Not that good idea Sad
So we must excluded in futher releases !?

The Debian bugtracker states that they removed it because it was buggy and is unmantained, so building from sources doesn't seem to be a great idea...

Maybe we could achieve the same results using mod_bw and adding a "limit exceeded detection" enhancement in the apache log processor, but I don't really know because I don't even use mod_cband Tongue Can you think of "uncovered" situations that mod_cband addresses and this combination couldn't?
