Email only server - bailey86 - 06-10-2009 04:42 PM Hi, Thanks for ISPCP - we've installed it on one of our servers and we're interested in using it on all of our domain servers. Our set up is that we try to keep web servers separate from email servers. So we've got ISPCP installed on an email only server. When we turn off all of the FTP features (using -1 etc) most of the web stuff does not appear - but the users can still access the file manager (which fails) and some other FTP related items. We'd like the users to be able to log in to manage their emails - but only see items related to email. Maybe there could be something changed on ISPCP to enable it to be a purely email only system for those who'd like it set like that. Thanks again for the excellent product. Kevin Bailey RE: Email only server - kilburn - 06-10-2009 04:59 PM There are some threads in the forum discussing the installation of ispcp through multiple servers (one providing web, another e-mail, another as database), so you end up with separate services, but all of them managed through a single panel. IMHO this is a much better solution than installing a stand-alone copy of ispcp to each of your servers and disabling the unused services on each of them. RE: Email only server - bailey86 - 06-10-2009 06:13 PM Any clean separation sounds good - so this would get my vote. But maybe it should be possible to tidy up the existing - for example - why does the file manager appear when the FTP is set to -1 |
