Fresh Install - Sovaka - 06-24-2009 11:02 PM Hey I have just recently ventured to Linux as I wish to setup a server. Having found ispCP with Webmin, I think it is a winning combination. However, failing an install just previously and had to reinstall Ubuntu, I think I need a little help. I have followed the main docs install instructions to the letter, but I had previously installed Webmin first, and messed with some configs. Now that I have a clean OS install, I was wondering if someone can tell me the best path to follow to allow a trouble free install. I read both on the forums and main docs, certain guides, but they conflict At the moment, all I have done is downloaded system updates. From here, what do I need to do to ensure a good install? This is what I believe the install order to be; #1 - LAMP #2 - ispCP #3 - Webmin If this isn't the case, please let me know Thanks. ~Sovaka RE: Fresh Install - MasterTH - 06-24-2009 11:42 PM why do u want to install lamp? I would'nt do that. When u follow the installation steps u will install all needed applikations for webserving, mailing usw... i'm not sure if the combination between lamp and ispcp is working RE: Fresh Install - Sovaka - 06-25-2009 09:10 AM (06-24-2009 11:42 PM)MasterTH Wrote: why do u want to install lamp? So install ispCP first then webmin and I should have all that I need? I'll give it a go. Had to do some modifying, but the admin.domain.com wasn't working Tried to find the error and all I could find was that I used case in my domain, which I take it is a bad thing. So I assume that is why it doesn't work. So time for another reinstall :\ RE: Fresh Install - BeNe - 06-25-2009 04:04 PM Is there a correct DNS entry for "admin.domain.tld" ? Greez BeNe RE: Fresh Install - MasterTH - 06-26-2009 06:41 AM what happens if you do a nslookup admin.domain.tld the answer must be the ip-adress of your server |
