More Userinfo in the Forum - BeNe - 06-04-2007 05:53 PM

Hello everybody,

is it possible to add more "User Information" to the Forum like "OS" and "ispCP Version" ?

This would be very helpful for the support in the Forum. Sometimes the User ask questions and do not write the OS and ispCP Version down. Otherwise it is also helpful to know which User is running which OS for Support.

What do you think ?

++

Maybe this also helps to tell the os/ispversion in the topic if it's not the same as in userinfo...
(there are people with more than one distro).

... and there is a little script that can compare lastest version with user version, if they are diff it will pop up a question "are you sure you are still use old version ?" before user post a question, so it will keep up version user database sync

Really ? I didnĀ“t hear that before. But this would be perfect.
So is every Forum User Up-to-date.

Do you know where to get this script ?

Hm - this forum cannot see, which ispcp version installed on my servers...

This script can AFAIK be built in ispcp itself and if the admin logs in then it shows the message... <red big blink>....</>

It could be possible (in later version) to integrate for the Admin and maybe for the Reseller his Account of this Forum in the ispCP OMEGA? So he could to see his bodylist, and if his Informations are uptodate in the Forum? Maybe it could be possible to bind other services inside too..

But I think not before 1.1.1 or so ...

Mr Light :-)

no bene, i am just imagining Rolleyes hehehe sorry but i think it possible to be done just to remember the user so they can update the version. its simple like

1. check version main repository
2. compare with database user version ( that is get from moreinfo module )
3. pop up the question if different and update it if user enter new version

thats all, maybe someone can build a better idea
