[SOLVED] Can't receive messages - Lumio - 08-09-2009 06:29 AM

Hi,

I created a new user for the main-domain. I added a new mailbox and I can use it over IMAP (I didn't test POP right now). But when I try to send a message to that email address, I get the following error-message:
Quote:An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.1.1 <admin@citrovider.net>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table. Please check the message recipient admin@citrovider.net and try again.

Maybe somebody can help me.

greetings.

Are you sure, the message is generated by your ispcp server?

I tried to send you something - I'll try again in some minutes, because greylisting is active and I have to wait some time.

/J

Upd: check your mailbox - I think you sent the mail to another server...

No, the message came from Thunderbird.
I can't find any problems in mail.log.

I also checked my mailbox on Thunderbird and with Webmail.

//edit: if you want to try again, it won't work, because I shut down the server Smile

//edit2: I already looked in the database yesterday and I can see that new user.

So, I reinstalled the system (because it's just for testing).
I changed the hostname to citrovider. When I got asked for the hostname again, I chose citrovider.citrovider.net (hostname . domain).

When I try to send a message again, same error.
SquirrelMail gives (on another server) gives me a similar error-message
Quote:Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
550 5.1.1 <admin@citrovider.net>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table

Maybe it's because of that?

Hi BeNe, I checked mail.log... nothing...

and which user? you mean the mail-account? I just got emails from my ispcp, but I can't receive from other servers. Only from localhost.

//edit: wtf? I can receive mails from GMX... let's try GMail... nothing, but also no error-message...
//edit2: I also received it from gmail... but I don't understand, why it doesn't work from my other server. Why do I get that error-message?

Does anybody know how to communicate with SMTP and send a message?

yep, thx Smile
When I try to say
Code:
RCPT TO: admin@citrovider.net
I get that error message above.

Sure that the DNS is correct and that this is the IP of your Server ?
Code:
bene@bene:~> ping citrovider.net
PING citrovider.net (90.146.174.186) 56(84) bytes of data.
^C
--- citrovider.net ping statistics ---
7 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 6016ms

jep... I checked it several minutes again, nothing changed Wink
If you try to get to http://90.146.174.186 you come to the ispcp-login

I think the problem comes from citrosaft.com [85.125.39.37].

//edit: ok, my mistake...
The server I sent the message from, uses also @citrovider.net for only one mail-account: info [at] citrov...
