Safe to aptitude upgrade with ISPCP Debian. - robbo007 - 09-04-2009 05:07 PM

Hello all,

Is it generally safe to do a aptitude upgrade on a Debian system running ISPCP? Or will the new versions of the packages break ISPCP?

Code:
# aptitude upgrade
W: The "upgrade" command is deprecated; use "safe-upgrade" instead.

I always update my Debian Lenny Server via apt-get/aptitude without any Problem.
But please let apt-get/aptitude not change the config if there is a question about it.

Hi ;

"safe-upgrade" is only needed for lenny. Respect it.

"apt-get" is not recommended. The aptitude frontend of dpkg is very good to manage the dependencies.

Ok thanks,

So no problems with upgrading the listed packages above with a safe-upgrade?

Cheers,
Rob

This has nothing to do. Please, let me see your /etc/apt/sources.list.
