Question Help us improve the navigation of ISPCP
Hello,

The team would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! We have exciting developments for 2011 as we move forward with ISPCP.

One of these developments is improving the usability and accessibility of ispCP Omega. We are experimenting with different menu navigation concepts and have produced two working prototypes. Now we want your input to help us make a decision.

To help, please review the following concepts and give us your opinion. Feel free to discuss various alternative approaches.

Concept Navigations:
1. http://demo.ispcp.net/Navigation1
2. http://demo.ispcp.net/Navigation2

I really like the current concept, but from the two presented I think option 2 is more accessible.

I like current theme since I am so use to it.
Ready for a change!

The second theme looks more intuitive than option 1 and current theme.

RE: Help us improve the navigation of ISPCP
The second Navigation is better. But it would be great, if the shortcuts in the upper-left also appeard in second navigation. BUT than, the shourtcuts should only be self-defined buttons - this buttons may do a deeplink to some usefull funktions, or to own modules (means free defineable links)

But Question:
Why don't use both Navigations-Styles? Would be great if ispcp become such flexible to even add my own Theme and Navigation-Style

Just an Idea to Navigation 1:
Visibility of the Menu Description can be added with jQuery tooltips that appear immediately on mouse over.

We can use Navigation 2 and represent the logout / switch user / other essential buttons as icons in the same way as the menu items in Navigation 1? Just food for thought.

Keep the feedback coming.

Hi There,

changing stuff is fun, i know. But is there a reason to change something other then change itself?

The current layout is fine and well taught out, but thats my opinion. Did you have any remarks that it wasn't?

Personally i think if you want to work on the theme you might want to consider using easily changeable theme's and branding, a bit like the wordpress theme's as far as the user experience is concerned.
