Ticket #1786 (closed enhancement: wontfix)
Replicate GUI users to AWstats users for easier stats-access

I have been reading http://www.isp-control.net/ispcp/ticket/1634 and http://www.isp-control.net/forum/thread-4663-page-1.html and had are hard time finding out how this AWstats authentication works.
I now understand that ~/stats/ is also authenticated via the domains default user/group-file managed through htpasswd. I'm fine with this behaviour.
Now comes the BUT...
I knew that statistics can be found under /stats, so when asked for user credentials I used my user/password from webpanel. Then I tried those from webmail... then from mysql. Weird none worked!
By default htpasswd and htgroup are left empty and in GUI there is no message informing about this.
Could we mirror the domains web users to the htpasswd file and give them group access to statistics by default. A user might then change the group if this user should be disallowed stats-access.
The password must also be updated when changed in webpanel/forgotten.
Changing the password from within tools must not be supported. It should be like the group statistics, which also cannot be changed or edited.
What do you think?
