Ticket #223 (closed defect: fixed)
after fresh install: /etc/hosts not ok

|Severity:||Keywords:||hosts file, proftpd|
I had this often with ispcp after a ispcp-setup on etch: proftpd can't start (because of the hostname) and apache brumbles something about hostnames when restarting...
I think it's a ispCP setup problem because the setup-program rewrites the hosts file.
After ispcp-setup: * # 'hosts' file configuration.
127.0.0.1 debix.domain.ch.local localhost 188.8.131.52 debix.domain.ch debix.domain.ch *
but this is not enough - I added some lines from etch original, and this looks better (also for proftpd): * 127.0.0.1 localhost
# The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts ::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback fe00::0 ip6-localnet ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix ff02::1 ip6-allnodes ff02::2 ip6-allrouters ff02::3 ip6-allhosts
# 'hosts' file configuration. ::ffff:184.108.40.206 debix.domain.ch debix 220.127.116.11 debix.domain.ch debix *
I wonder why not everyone has this problem - maybe because some have other DNS settings so the hostname problem doesn't appear...??
