RE: Two servers, two NS ? - Eminos - 02-14-2008 06:33 AM Alright, Now I should try this How To. Say me what is the [DNS.FROM.ISP] variable in the how to, and do I have to have that? It says "It should include a nameserver from your isp as forwarder " .. why is that? Can't I just use my own two DNS' ? Shout I replace ISP DNS with my own NS2 ? And also, this stuff: "You need a key for secure zonetransfers on both nameservers. You can create a key with: (its in the <bla>.private file, only needed once and only on your NS1) dnssec-keygen -a hmac-md5 -b 512 -n host [YOUR.NS1.FQDN] " Once it says on both NS' and then it says only needed on NS1 ?? Can someone just explain this, and point me in the right direction ? Thanks. /E RE: Two servers, two NS ? - joximu - 02-14-2008 07:14 AM well, there are always two NS. In the example NS2 stays at the provider. /J RE: Two servers, two NS ? - Eminos - 02-14-2008 07:25 AM Tons of errors in this How To .. to bad /E RE: Two servers, two NS ? - joximu - 02-14-2008 07:33 AM There is also google, eg. 'sync bind' or something like this. There are lot's of descriptions - you should be able to adopt them /J RE: Two servers, two NS ? - Eminos - 02-14-2008 07:36 AM Of course I tried google. Don't give me "lot's of descriptions", but please give me ONE site that could help me (except the bind manual of course). /E RE: Two servers, two NS ? - joximu - 02-14-2008 07:57 AM I don't have one. I once had a look what's around - if there is a full automated possibility but didn't find one - so I stay with may manual method for the moment. I wrote in some posts earlier what the basic steps are if you want to build a more automated sync. I'm sure there are other forums where theese nameserver items are discussed in a more detailed way. We have to focus on ispcp related questions. The howto seems not very helpfull, this is sad but maybe someone can write a better one... |
