RE: installation freezes
but i still have a little error:

it asked me:
fully qualified hostname: i entered mydomain.com
where ispcp will run: admin.mydomain.com

and then after installation, i see via webmin that it created root zone "mydomain.com" and root zone "admin.mydomain.com", with separate ns1.admin.mydomain.com, etc... is it ok ?

Everything with the dns is ok. But domain.com is not a "Full Qulaified Hostname".

RE: installation freezes
i manually fixed the dns problem, all works fine except proftpd..

ispcp shows it is stopped, so i try to start it:

# /etc/init.d/proftpd start
Starting ftp server: proftpd - IPv4 getaddrinfo 'myhost' error: Name or service not known
- warning: unable to determine IP address of 'myhost'
- error: no valid servers configured
- Fatal: error processing configuration file '/etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf'
failed!

RE: installation freezes
better: fix the wrong hostname in proftpd.conf

or reset ispcp and rerun ispcp-setup but this time with a real and valid FQHN

hostname -f

/J

RE: installation freezes
okay, let's presume that the domain is myhost.tld

in /etc/hostname i edited it so it does not appear myhost, but myhost.tld.

in /etc/hosts what do i have to write, because it contains many ipv6 lines
