RE: Problem getting ispcp to work please help
ok

a minimal install, then download the tar.gz Version of ispcp

unpack it

you'll find the docu in docs/Debian/INSTALL

the same document is here:
http://www.isp-control.net/ispcp/browser...an/INSTALL

(if you download the tar.bz2 version - then you have to install bzip2 before unpacking ... :-)

follow this INSTALL and not any other perfect thing...

Thanks alot joximu
I followed your instructions from A to Z and installed RC3 on fresh system
and it is working except i got some issues i need to know how to take care
of them:
1- when i write : admin.server1.mydomain.com it says :server not found
2- i write : http://www.mydomain.com the login comes on and it works the only
problem with that it is taken my site place.
3- after i login i look at service ststus i found :
localhost (Port 10024) AMaVis DOWN
localhost (Port 783) SPAMASSASSIN DOWN
I didn't change anything at all, actually i even installed all the recommended
packages include fast-cgi & mpm-worker
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks again

i don't know your structure...
you must add this (sub-) domain with the ip from the server to your dns, where you registere your domain...

hi Rene again i don't think it is dns problem, i used dig & ping everything
is running and from the server status:
localhost (Port 53) DNS UP
this is the first time to use ispcp so i am not use to it yet and i don't know
what is :AMaVis
but i read in one of the posts here that AmaVis is not part of ispcp and it is not important also
the same with spamassasin .
so i think then i don't have problem with ispcp except i have to find antivirus that works with it.
Thanks anyway for your help.

Hi Adel

1) you have to make sure that your local Browser-Client is able to resolve admin.server1.mydomain.com - that's what Rene meant with DNS.
ispCP does create a zone for it but many admins don't use the ispCP DNS as a official DNS - they often have a DNS management at another place.

2) is "www.mydomain.com" also installed? or is the dns pointing to your server but the domain itself has not been installed there?

3) Services: well there are in fact other threads dealing this. ispCP "comes" with the most important services (they are installed during setup). amavis and spamassassin is not "supported". There are howts to use maia or just amavis and spamassassin - but it's not part of ispCP.
The Website with the control is just an information site for the admin to see, which services are running - or not.

You can add more of them - some of them you can delete in the gui, others you can delete in the config table (database).

Hi joximu again
I really apreciate your help and fast response.
I am facing bad time now after i installed ispcp and i am trying
to understand what hapened !
I was happy the installation was good with no errors, and i didn't
change anything at all.
1- the ispcp does not come on with:
admin.server1.mydomain.com (cannot find server)
it come on with : server1.mydomain.com
and i said may be it is OK because my domain start with http://www.mydomain.com
Now a new issue i don't know if this because of i changed
to mpm-worker & mod-fastcgi or what !
the issues is : after i add mydomain.com for me and a domain
for another user that i create it then suddenly Bind stoped
working and i tried to restart or stop and i got:
bindrndc connect failed for 127.0.0.1#953 connection refused
so i open name.conf and deleted the 2 sites form it, also i ran
rndc-confgen -r/dev/urandom -a
Bind start working again so i logged into ispcp and put the domains
back in Bind gave me this error message again and stop working.
I am just wondering if this because i am adding the name of the
domain of the server fqdn because if i put in the address in the
browser http://www.mydomain.com : the ispcp login comes on.
I hope i am making myself clear enough.
I appreciate your help and support very much.

Hi
"(cannot find server)" - this is a clear message: it's dns.
did you try a "ping admin.server1.domain.com" on your station (not on the server)?

I also have the following running:
admin.host.domain.tld (admin url) and domain.tld (customer)
and also
adminpanel.domain.tld (admin url) and the domain.tld (customer)
maybe with a small correction in the config... :-)

bind: there must be more information in the logfile about the problem.
the "connection refuse" is not because of some domain in the named.conf

Hi again joximu
Thanks for your support.
I manage to uninstall ispcp and reinstall it again, now i am even
afraid to add a site with the name of fqdn which is my registered site
mydomain.com, i put it to start on : admin.mydomain.com and it works
also i ping the admin.mydomain.com it works too.
now i got a problem with the login password when
i entered the wrong password the first time, (i change it in the new installation)
so i entered the old one and tried to enter the right one
after it said (wrong password) then after i entered the new one
(right one) it said Wait for 30 minutes, i waited long time and try
again it keeps telling me the same thing is there is anyway to correct this problem also?
Thanks alot for your help
